Research on Imaging Radar Technology for Security Inspections

There is increasing demand for fast inspection equipment to improve efficiency and reduce the time taken to conduct inspections, for example security inspections at airports. As part of this work, millimeter wave images allowing larger imagery and finer resolution have been developed as part of a validity test for imaging systems capable of detecting concealed objects under clothes using millimeter wave radar technologies. To improve the imaging performance, we are developing a method to increase the contrast of thermal noise images, spatial resolution and image processing speed for 3D radar.

When a pedestrian passes in front of the radio imager while carrying a dangerous items, the Radio imager detects the dangerous items.
