Real-time Air Traffic Control Simulation Syatem

In every airport expansion and construction project, estimation of airspace capacity is one of the most important tasks, for which all elements concerning air traffic controllers must be considered. This is where the true value of real-time ATC (Air Traffic Control) simulation lies, because in simulation experiments, the ATC environment is reproduced in a realistic fashion and air traffic controllers carry out their roles as if performing actual ATC operations. Consequently, the experiments provide valuable information for the study of airspace capacity and are an intrinsically safe way to study proposed changes in the extremely complex and interactive human-machine system.

The real-time ATC simulation system includes radar-displays and pseudo-pilot consoles. This system enables large-scale real-time ATC simulation for the terminal and en route ATC sectors.
