Study on Measurement of Human Factors

ENRI has been developing a so-called Fatigue and Drowsiness Predictor, which detects subtle changes in human voice patterns caused by stress and fatigue.

The predictor, which is an application of chaos theory, is able to detect tiredness in test subjects about 20 minutes before the subjects themselves notice it. It will be possible to issue warnings to ATC controllers and pilots, and drivers of vehicles and trains, before becoming fatigued and making errors.
