Dear friends and colleagues around the world concerned about ENRI, |
Since the March 11 disaster we have received many messages expressing concern, sympathy and condolences, and asking about our present circumstances. We sincerely appreciate these messages, and are greatly encouraged by them.
Japan is now facing record-breaking difficulties. Many lives have been lost or are still missing. Efforts are still being made to contain the nuclear contamination from the Fukushima power plant. Our experimental site at Sendai Airport was submerged by Tsunami and most of the experimental facilities there, including our branch office and experimental aircraft, were severely damaged. Several research projects that were due to start this April have been forced to be modified or delayed as a result.
However, thanks to a lot of kind assistance from around the world, I believe we will get through these difficulties. Fortunately at ENRI, all of our colleagues and their families are safe. Our international researchers who temporarily left Japan have come back to the office again. We will soon start to restore our facilities at Sendai and will be able to send you brighter news next time.
Finally, we would like to express again our deepest gratitude to all of you who think much about us.
Best wishes to you all,
Chikayoshi HIRASAWA
President
